Summer Solstice 2004:
June 20, 9:57 pm local time, 12:57 am GMT
Summer Solstice is the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. On Sable Island, the birds and horses enjoyed a Solstice day of sunshine and occasional cloud cover, with temperatures up to 14° C, and a fresh sea breeze, northwesterly peaking at 20 knots. Most of the foals have been born, and there are tern chicks in the nests and sandpiper chicks scampering along the pond edges.
Best wishes and Happy Summer Solstice from Sable Island to all Green Horse Society members.
