Dec 18, 2009: What a wonderful website! You provide so much information. Sable Island has fascinated me for years, but the closest I ever got was when spending each summer in Shelburne, NS, when growing up in Massachusetts. I have just spent a delightful hour or two on your site, and I will certainly be back. Thank you so much! Port Angeles, Washington
Dec 15, 2009: Visited your website after listening to a wonderful documentary on BBC Radio 4 here in the UK this morning (15 December 2009). Found it very informative and fascinating, thanks for all the effort that has obviously gone in to research and maintenance! Charles Howting

Sep 19, 2009: Caught documentary of a photographer who visited Sable Island to photograph The Wild Horses of Sable Island and then displayed his work at a Gallery beautiful! Was aware of the Island Horses but had very little knowledge. Went to Wikipedia, found a link to your site. Thank you for the wonderful information and a great site. Keep up the good work preserving this most special place for this unique group of horses that have become indigenous to Island. It is only through the efforts of wonderful people like you that Canada will be able to preserve what is left of our endangered heritage. The photos are beautiful. The captions with each photo were very informative about how well adapted they are to survival in their environment. You people are to be commended for the many hours spent protecting and preserving this beautiful piece of our history.

Aug 06, 2009: Very nice site!
Jul 25, 2009: Knowing the names of the horses allows me a feeling of closeness to these ponies. I wonder about their daily lives and behavior and how it may differ, or not, from kept horses. Also, it would be very intersting to see a family tree laid out of all the bands. Im curious about how family bands develop and disband, how individuals move between them during their lives, and what the genetic relationships between and among the bands look like. Is anyone working on genetics of the horses?
Jul 12, 2009: Just found out aobut your web site from a program about a photographer taking photos of the Sable Island Horses. I visited for am an avid horse fan. I live near the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, and there are Sable Island Horses in residence there, always a popular spot for yours truly. The reason, for me, at least regarding naming horses, is because I love researching linages of thoroughbreds, Northern Dancer in particular. So when I saw about naming the Sable Island Horses, I was naturally interested. You seem to have started what could be pedigrees of sorts for the horses there. Great job I might add. I enjoyed that part. Keep up the good work folks, I will mark your site, and will pay another visit soon. Best regards, Mary Mansfield, horse lover.
Jun 29, 2009: I am

Jun 11, 2009: Very
Beautiful Place of Canada, nicer than Prince Edward Island.
Jun 08, 2009: June 2009. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your extensive website, it brought back many memories of my 2 year stint as a Met Tech on Sable in 1979-80. In the years since I have often wondered about the Island and its inhabitants, thus it was with pleasure that I explored this site. Many years later I worked on the drilling rig Rowan Gorilla III within sight of Sable. I now work in the North Sea off Scotland on the Rowan Gorilla V and the Rowan Gorilla III is preparing to return to the area off Sable, so perhaps I will return? All the best to the Society and its endeavours, keep up the good work! And hello to Z & G. Brent K. May 27, 2009: acabo de ver el documental de esta isla es fabulosa ojala sigua con este aire de libertad tan solo sea para sus verdaderos habitantas LOS CABALLOS isabel gerona spain
May 30, 2009: My interest is not necessarily in the names of the horses, but I knew this link would have pictures of the horses on the island. Also, names are a way to identify. I believe that if people are interested in the naming of the horses, they are interested in making some kind of connection with horses that beat the odds. These horses are special. Sincerely, Marie Sherwood, Long Faces and Happy Hearts Equestrian Centre
